What is conscientious fashion? It is fashion with values and principles. The fashion world has been stuck wanting to innovate things radically with every coming fashion season. To achieve this they think out-of-the-box, and sometimes out-of-their-minds.
Certain fashion statements do not make moral sense too. Not all people think alike. And not all people do not get influenced by what they see around them. Fashion makes people think that the world has arrived at a certain point. Such people don’t want to left out. So when a male fashion brand makes a male model walk the ramp with a see-my-bum trouser, you bet some people might be thinking to wear the same at a party!
Fashion for a large part is indulgence by the fashion designer. Very less fashion designers make fashion that can actually be worn without feeling uneasy. Even if they do, they don’t want to feel mundane by putting their clothing lines for display at fashion shows.
Conscientious fashion can also mean eco-friendly fashion. Making clothes without the use of harmful chemicals that hurt the environment. It also means the total non-use of leather and fur. There are many fashion brands who follow this principle. One can say that in a way such fashion brands are practicing conscientious fashion.
Conscientious fashion is also morally right fashion. It is not fashion that encourages promiscuity and adultery. This does not mean fashion designers make un-sexy clothes. This just means that they don’t make clothes that are next to naked.
